$475,000 RECOVERY OUT OF $500,000 POLICY LIMITS FOR A 34-YEAR-OLD GUTTER INSTALLER FOR INJURIES SUSTAINED IN A CAR CRASH
John G. Mennie, Esq., Senior Partner of Mennie Heizler, LLC, obtained a $475,000 recovery for injuries sustained by his client in a car crash on May 21, 2022. The Plaintiff was at a complete stop when his pickup truck was rear ended by another vehicle. It was a low-speed minimal property damage collision. There were no initial reported injuries, but the Plaintiff several weeks later developed neck pain radiating into his arm. He continued to work as an installer of gutter systems. He ultimately a year later had a cervical fusion at two levels. The defendants disputed whether he could have sustained these injuries in the less than 10 mph impact with minimal property damage or whether they were sustained in his very physical job installing gutter systems. The case proceeded through discovery and ultimately resolved for $475,000.00 out of the defendant’s $500,000.00 policy limits on May 30, 2024. Fortunately, the Plaintiff made a nice recovery and continues to work as an installer of gutter systems. The client was very happy with the results.
